I thought Dredd was a very solid movie with great action scenes and gruesome violence. I’m glad to see Karl Urban excited to make the Dredd sequel happen, since there were talks of him, screenwriter Alex Garland and Lionsgate being involved.
During Chicago Comic-Con, Urban reveals that if Dredd 2 does happen, it may possibly be a prequel instead of a sequel, according to Movie Web:
“Why yes, there is a definite possibility. But, it is more likely that we will do the origins story with Dredd trekking through the cursed earth to find the first Chief Judge Fargo.”
Does this mean we won’t be seeing the Dark Judges after all, since it will focus on a different storyline? Either way, I’d be happy to see another Dredd movie with Urban and Garland involved.
